Abstract: |
An archaeological evaluation was undertaken by Cotswold Archaeology in April and May 2017 on land north of the Viaduct, Ledbury, Herefordshire. Thirty trenches were excavated. A small number of Roman ditches and a pit were identified in two trenches in the central-southern part of the site. The size and character of the recovered pottery assemblage from these features suggests the presence of a contemporary settlement within close proximity. Ditches and a mill race pertaining to post-medieval and modern agricultural activity, land division and water management were also identified. |
