Abstract: |
CFA Archaeology undertook an archaeological watching brief on land to the south of Meeting House Close, East Leake, Nottinghamshire. The archaeological monitoring was undertaken during the excavation of a central spine road and groundworks on the site of a former windmill. Excavation at the windmill location identified a group of four rectangular pits relating to the former building foundations. A number of metal finds were retrieved during the excavations across the site including a copper-alloy crotal bell. |
