Abstract:		 A watching brief was undertaken in support of the planned refurbishment of the fire pond to the west of Brodick Castle. The archaeological works were designed to mitigate any adverse impact on the archaeological remains within the affected areas. In total, three areas were excavated to identify any archaeological features within the vicinity of the fire pond. The condition of the sluice was also assessed. No archaeological features of significance were found in the areas excavated.
