Abstract: |
An archaeological evaluation was undertaken by CFA Archaeology Ltd, on behalf of ABB Ltd prior to the extension of Blackhillock Substation near Keith, Moray to accommodate a new High Voltage Direct Current cable running from Caithness to Moray. 17 trenches in total were excavated through sterile topsoil and subsoil deposits to fulfill the 10% evaluation strategy. Whilst it was clear from ploughed soil deposits and the presence of an upstanding farmstead in the centre of the site that the area had been in agricultural use, no significant archaeological remains were discovered. |
