Abstract: |
An Archaeological Watching Brief was undertaken by Headland Archaeology (UK) Ltd during groundworks associated with the construction of an extension to the Stonebow Unit, Hereford County Hospital. A series of apparently north-east/south-west oriented pits, dating to the post-medieval period were identified, though no specific function could be attributed. Disarticulated fragments of human remains were identified within the fills of three features, potentially suggesting the cemetery associated with St Guthlac's Priory extended into the area. |
