Abstract: |
During the watching brief, post-medieval layers which probably represented reclamation were observed and a surface, perhaps a path marked on a map of 1781 was noted. Waterlogged deposits may have represented the late medieval silting up of the pool. It was concluded that earlier medieval deposits were likely to have existed underneath the excavated sewer trench.
