Abstract:		 During March 2016 Oxford Archaeology carried out a trial trench evaluation at Balliol College Master's Field, Oxford. Two evaluation trenches around the edge of the sports field each contained a ditch of medieval date, probably relating to agricultural boundaries. A pit of similar date was also present. The trenches excavated through the car park and gardens on the eastern side of the side all exhibited truncation of the natural gravels and no archaeological features remained. Several well preserved glass bottles and stoneware vessels of Victorian date were recovered from a made ground deposit.
