Abstract:		 Strip, map and sample excavation was undertaken to the rear of the old Barn prior to the construction of an extension revealing a substantial made ground which facilitated additional space adjacent to the former barn as the natural ground slopes considerably downwards to the north. Of note was the absent of any archaeological remains in particular a putative foundation wall which was thought to projects into the strip, map and sample area. The watching brief inside the barn confirmed the absent of any projecting foundation wall running underneath the barn, as the foundation previously identified during an excavation in 2013 abutted the masonry of the current barn instead.
