Abstract: |
An archaeological evaluation was undertaken by Cotswold Archaeology in October 2016 at Bearwood Lakes Golf Course. 4 trenches were excavated. Planning permission was granted by Wokingham Borough Council (WBC) for the construction of a reservoir adjacent to Bearwood lakes Golf Club Maintenance Facility subject to the results of this archaeological evaluation. An evaluation was required as the site had been identified as an area of possible archaeological interested, the results would help to inform Berkshire Archaeology, the planning advisor to WBC, of the archaeological potential of the site. Of the four trenches excavated, Trench 3 contained evidence of heavy modern truncation while all four trenches did not any archaeological features or material. |
