Abstract:		 Magnetometry was carried out by Archaeological Surveys Ltd over approximately 1ha of recreational land at Barton Marina, Barton-under-Needwood, Staffordshire. The survey was carried out ahead of a lakeside residential development. The results demonstrate the presence of several positive linear and discrete anomalies of uncertain origin and a former field boundary ditch. Widespread magnetic debris in the central and northern parts of the site may relate to ground disturbance and subsequent landscaping associated with former gravel extraction or other construction works at the marina. The location of the former field boundary ditch implies less disturbance within the southern part of the survey area.
