Abstract: |
Walkover survey with GPS to give rapid assessment of the woodland's potential to contain well-preserved archaeological features. The wood was walked in transects aligned roughly N-S and E-W, approx 50m to 100m apart. The survey is only a sample of the woodland and should not be taken as exhaustive or its results as definitive. Features identified included charcoal burning platforms, saw pits, platforms, a deer park pale and a boundary bank. |
