Abstract: |
In October 2016 KDK Archaeology Ltd undertook an archaeological evaluation at 20 Hitchin Street, Biggleswade, Bedfordshire, prior to the construction of two apartments. The site is situated close to the heart of the medieval settlement, and within the flood plain of the river Ivel. The excavation uncovered two early 15th century feature which may have been maltings kilns or possibly bread ovens, a 19th century cess pit and a modern rubbish pit. |
