Abstract:		 In April 2015 NPS Archaeology carried out archaeological monitoring and excavation ahead of redevelopment at 150-152 Magdalen St. Norwich. The work was conducted on behalf of and funded by Mr Oliver Tookman. The plot is located on the inside of the medieval city wall, a scheduled monument.The work followed earlier evaluation of the site. A cluster of medieval waste pits were probably situated in the back plot of a medieval structure, of which no trace survived, fronting Magdalen st. Two probable mineral extraction pits were recorded towards the west end of the plot. Walls belonging to an early post-medieval building were recorded towards the rear of the plot. After a programme of dumping of deposits deriving from both demolition events and domestic waste disposal a large post-medieval cellar with adjoining barrel vault was constructed. This was later remodelled and a further cellar constructed on the street frontage. Structural elements and services associated with the recently demolished 1960s building occupying the site were also recorded.
