Abstract:		 Wessex Archaeology was commissioned by David Wilson Homes to carry out an archaeological evaluation on land south of Newbury racetrack at Newbury Racecourse, Newbury. The Site was identified as a known habitat for greater crested newts and this meant that only two of the planned trenches could be excavated during this phase.
