Abstract: |
This report has been prepared by Border Archaeology on behalf of Gallagher Estates and details the results of a programme of Archaeological Field Evaluation of Land Parcel A2 (Fields 1, 2 and 3) at 'Two Mile Ash', which forms part of the Milton Keynes Western Area Expansion - Area 10. Forty-eight trenches were opened on land utilised predominately as pastoral farmland. Ten trenches contained features of varying archaeological significance, largely dating to the post-medieval period, and comprised possible clay extraction pits (Field 1), a single post-medieval gully (Field 2) and remnants of ridge and furrow, as well as an associated field boundary, and areas of rooting containing residual late prehistoric or Romano-British pottery (Field 3). No mitigation will be proposed for these three fields. |
