Abstract:		 In June 2016 and August 2017 an archaeological watching brief was conducted during the development of the land on the east side of Smewins Road, south of the Twyford Brook, Berkshire (NGR SU 847755). The Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead granted planning permission for new access from Smewins Road (15/01924) and permission for the erection of a steel portal frame Quail barn (15/01581). These two areas were archaeologically monitored. Both trenches were devoid of any archaeological features as the impact level of the trenches only cut into the top of the sub-soil horizon.
