Abstract: |
Pre-Construct Archaeology Limited was commissioned by the Archaeology Collective on behalf of the overall Client to undertake Historic Building Recording of a group of 19th century and later buildings earmarked for demolition as part of the approved redevelopment of nos 2-24 Horton Road, Yiewsley, West Drayton, London Borough of Hillingdon. The Site is located at the western end of Horton Road and close to its junction with the High Street, adjacent to the Grand Union Canal and just north of the West Drayton railway station at Ordnance Survey National Grid Reference (NGR) TQ 06145 80198. The site incorporates at least six redundant buildings comprising a mixture of commercial and office use, as well as an electricity substation. At least one of the buildings is 19th century in date whilst the others, including a four-storey 'works', were built during the early/mid 20th century. The site, in part, appears to have been associated with the printing industry. |
