Abstract: |
Excavation of two large areas, and a smaller watching brief, revealed a middle Bronze Age cremation cemetery, limited evidence for Roman occupation, significant early/Middle Saxon occupation (with an unusual crouched burial), a massive late Saxon circular or oval enclosure ditch, which continued to be redefined successively into the 13th century, and considerable evidence for the medieval (12th and 13th century) use of the site. A full publication report is in preparation. |
