Abstract: |
An archaeological assessment (watching brief) was carried out on land to the rear of 93 East St, Newton Abbot, as a response to a planning condition required by Teignbridge District Council. Machine excavated groundworks were archaeologically monitored as a precautionary step, to prevent the unrecorded destruction of any archaeological features that may survive. No structures were noted, but a backfilled ditch was observed and recorded in section, which is likely to have been associated with a medieval property boundary or burgage plot. |
