Abstract: |
A protracted watching brief revealed a variety of features dating from (possibly) the medieval period into the late post-medieval. A well, with in-situ wooden structure, could be medieval. Two tunnels (or possibly culverts) appear to date from the 17th century. They do not correspond with any mapped features in the area but may be presumed to relate to the mansion to the south, or its gardens, which had known periods of building c. 1620 and c. 1670. |
