Abstract: |
A cowshed in derelict condition, at the NW corner of the farmstead, was recorded before demolition in 2015. It was timber-framed and weatherboarded, and dated to the 19th century. Recording and subsequent monitoring of groundworks noted various repairs. Within the building were the footings of an earlier building, of handmade red unfrogged bricks, and a probable robber trench dug to remove a timber sill beam. Some of the shed timbers may have been reused from earlier structures. |
