Abstract:		 Wessex Archaeology was commissioned by CgMs Consulting Ltd on behalf of McCarthy and Stone Retirement to carry out a trial trench evaluation of Land at United Kingdom House, Castle Street Salisbury, Wiltshire. The Site is centred on NGR SU 14423 30369. The Site lies within an area of archaeological potential and the evaluation was a requirement of pre-application advice to inform the determination of a planning application for a proposed redevelopment of the Site. Six trenches were excavated and revealed a small amount of archaeological remains dating from the early medieval to the 19th century.
