Abstract: |
A Level 1 Standing Building Survey was carried out on 22 December 2018; the weather was bright and cold. A full photographic record of the buildings was made and architects plans, elevations and sections checked, corrected and annotated. Building 1 (the farmhouse) is having a door broken through from Room 1 to Room 2 and W1 is to be opened to create a door and so the survey was limited to these areas of the house only. The client requested the exterior of the house be photographed. Buildings 2 and 3 were fully surveyed. A number of areas are ruinous with collapsing roofs and overgrown or inaccessible because of rooms being used for storage. Three phases of development include the mill Building 3 being the earliest structure on the site, possibly with the earliest part of the farmhouse and then the C-shaped steading, extension to the house followed by extensions to the steading. It was complete by the date of the 1st edition OS map. |
