Abstract: |
A level 1 standing building survey was carried out on 20 February 2019; the building was originally a C-shaped steading, possibly with a mill on the NE wing (Illus 12). The courtyard was gradually infilled. On the 1st Edition OS map there is a C-shaped steading (Rooms 1, 3, 4 and 6) with two temporary buildings one within the courtyard and one to the N. On the 2nd Edition OS map part of the courtyard has been infilled (Room 5) and by the 3rd Edition OS map the whole courtyard has been enclosed (Room 2). The building is now in a very poor condition and it is recommended that no further archaeological work is required during the current planning applications. |
