Abstract: |
An archaeological watching brief for a new telecommunications mast base and access track northwest of Heather Cottage, Brodick, Isle of Arran was required due to the location of the development site within an area of prehistoric remains, notably a stone circle and several lithic findspots. The fieldwork was undertaken in August 2017. The area of the mast base had been stripped before the archaeologist arrived on site, but was on a very steep slope with limited archaeological potential. The route of the access track also crossed a very steep slope through existing mature woodland. Due to the limited archaeological potential no further watching brief was recommended. |
