Abstract: |
An archaeological excavation undertaken in advance of the construction of two pig nursery sheds with associated below ground storage tanks on land at Barforth Grange near Gainford, Co. Durham. The excavation was undertaken in accordance with a detailed WSI that had been approved by Durham County Council Archaeology team and is required in support of a planning application. The work was informed by a geophysical survey and trial trench evaluation that identified a series of ditches dating to the medieval period. |
