Abstract: |
Between the 28th and 30th of November 2016 York Archaeological Trust undertook a watching brief on works involving the replacement of lighting around Clifford's Tower, Tower Street, York, YO1 9SA, SE 6046 5147 (Figure 1). The site lies within York's designated Area of Archaeological Importance. These ground works were the first phase of an ongoing programme of works that includes upgrading lighting at the Bar Walls in the vicinity of Station Road. The second phase of works is expected to commence in early 2017. All works were undertaken by Bouygues Energies and Services on behalf of City of York Council. |
