Abstract: |
An site evaluation, with one trench placed to excavate and uncover the sequence of deposits in this area. Part of pre-planning investigations. The evlauation uncovered horticultural and agricultural soils dating from the medieval to post-medieval periods, as well as potential Roman cut feature. Substantial modern made-ground deposits of almost 2m sealed the archaeology. It is considered there is a high potential for medieval and Roman archaeology present on the site from 2.00m BGL. |
