Evaluation of a site adjacent to Mote Hill, the presumed location of a medieval castle, and within a general scatter of prehistoric sites in and around the valley of the River North Tyne. Seven trenches were excavated (5% sample). Six of the seven trenches excavated contained no archaeological features; trench 6 contained what is considered to have been two post-medieval clearance banks; |
