Abstract: |
An archaeological watching brief was carried out during groundworks associated with the construction of a new dwelling on land northeast of Twin Oaks, Uplowman, Devon. The new dwelling will be situated on the northeast side of the village in a level pasture field lying at around 125m above Ordnance Datum. The footings trenches for the dwelling were observed. The area contained no archaeological features, deposits or finds. No evidence was found to indicate settlement or funerary activity of any date on the site and it is probable that historically the area has been in agricultural use only. |
