Abstract: |
Pre-Construct Archaeology Ltd was appointed by Claire Jordan, to carry out an archaeological watching brief at Manor Court, Lees Hill, South Warnborough, Hampshire, RG29 1RQ. The site is the subject of a development of a one, two story house and the demolition and rebuild on the front boundary wall. The watching brief was conducted in three visits between the 31th May and 10th June 2016. Visits coincided with stripping of topsoil within the footprint of the new building. Stripping revealed natural chalk, over the site. A strip of the land directly west of the boundary wall which, had been excavated and then backfilled with topsoil and chalk rubble. Three modern postholes were seen to the east of the site with a small, shallow, irregular rectangular feature thought to be related to the excavation of material directly behind the boundary wall. No archaeological features, deposits or finds were recorded. |
