Abstract: |
Pre-Construct Archaeology was commissioned by Cgms Consulting to monitor site investigation works at Royal Mint Court. These consisted of 5 boreholes; 6 windowless sample holes, 24 observation pits and 23 trial pits. The boreholes extended down into the underlying London Clay. Most of the sample holes and pits revealed concrete and modern material relating to the 1980's redevelopment. A few, excavated in basements, exposed natural gravels. Human bone was recovered from two pits and one of the boreholes. These bones were later reburied. |
