Abstract:		 A watching brief was kept on 1 October 2018 during the excavation of a trench for an underground power cable to a new domestic residence at Ballinaby in the NW corner of Islay. Two standing stones and two Viking burials are located at Ballinaby although nothing of archaeological significance was uncovered during trenching on this occasion.
