Abstract:		 An archaeological hand evaluation was carried out at Linlithgow Palace Bow Butts in advance of works to install drainage. The trenches were placed to in order to identify any archaeological deposits or features and to better understand the soil profile and formation of the bank along the Bow Butts. No archaeological features or deposits were identified. The bank appears to be formed of well-sorted slopewashed deposits.
