Abstract:
This illustrated report describes the results and methods of the air photo and lidar mapping and interpretation undertaken for the Pennine Dales Fringe NMP Project in North Yorkshire (6626).This project was funded by the English Heritage National Heritage Protection Commissions Programme (NHPCP) and carried out by Alison Deegan between November 2013 and March 2015. The project used English Heritage National Mapping Programme methods and standards. This report includes an overview of the sources of aerial imagery and the methods used to create maps and records of the archaeological monuments. A period-based overview of the archaeological results highlights some of the discoveries and analysis arising from this work. This report concludes with a summary of recommendations for further work including management recommendations for a selection of key monuments.
