Abstract:
The survey found evidence for a complex palimpsest of earthworks within this block of land, including features interpretable as holloways, possible pillow mounds, traces of ridge-and-furrow cultivation, terraced-ways, and remnants of enclosure boundaries. These features seemed to relate more to the development of the village and past agricultural land use, than to a designed ornamental landscape. [Au(abr)]
