Abstract:		 An archaeological watching brief was maintained during excavations to allow the installation of a new gate through the surrounding fence to the E of the Castle. The removal of an existing signpost just SW of the gate was also monitored. Six small trenches were excavated, revealing nothing of archaeological significance.
