Abstract:		 Pre-Construct Archaeology Ltd was appointed by CgMs on to undertake an archaeological evaluation on land at Weston Road, Upton Grey, Hampshire RG25 2RJ. The site is the subject of a proposal for a housing development. This report details the results of the archaeological evaluation, which comprised the excavation of twelve 30m by 1.8m evaluation trenches. Work was undertaken between 15th and 21st January 2016. Only two fragments of Post-Medieval ceramic building material were found, one each in the topsoil in of trenches 3 and 7. These were identified as modern and not retained. No other archaeological resources were identified in the trenches. The evaluation was carried out in keeping with the WSI. The trenches appear to indicate the site has no archaeological resource potential.
