Abstract:		 Pre-Construct Archaeology Ltd (PCA) has been appointed by Hampshire County Council Property Services to undertake an archaeological watching brief during groundworks for a proposed car park at Gilbert White and the Oates Collection, Selborne, Hampshire, GU34 3JH, NGR 474142 133518, hereafter 'the Site'. This report concerns the results of the archaeological watching brief, which involved a series of monitoring visits made during October 2016. The groundworks involved reducing the ground level in a crescent shape in the North of the site for the laying of the road surface and parking bays as well as the monitoring of trenching for extending existing water, electricity and internet services. Although there were fragments of CBM of varying antiquity as well as modern glass scattered across the site no discernible archaeology was noted in this watching brief.
