Abstract: |
Building recording in advance of demolition of the Bedford Sanitary Laundry. The laundry was purpose built in c1898 and ceased trading in 1965. After 1965 the building was converted in to several industrial units, including a motor garage. The exterior of the building survives relatively well but many alterations had been carried out during the conversion to industrial use. No original fixtures or fittings survive. A good set of original architect's and engineers plans are located at the Bedfordshire and Luton Archives and Records Services. |
