The abstract describing the content of the publication or report
Abstract:		 This report is the result of the survey and investigation of the house and gardens of the Godolphin estate, and of research into published and unpublished documentary sources, undertaken by RCHME in 1994-5. The surviving parts of the house were built in four phases between the late 15th and the early 17th centuries; there are also remains of gardens of the late 16th century. Although much of the house was demolished, probably in the course of the 18th century, substantial parts still stand of the house of a leading family of Cornish gentry of the 16th and 17th centuries.
