Abstract: |
An archaeological evaluation comprising the excavation of five trial trenches was undertaken at the proposed location of a single wind turbine and access track at Warren Field, Horkstow, North Lincolnshire. Archaeological features were identified in two trenches (T4 and T5) and consisted of one gully, four ditches and two possible postholes. Pottery and animal bone fragments were recovered from these features the pottery suggests the majority of the features are of 1st to 2nd century Romano-British date with a single ditch dated to the late 3rd century. The remaining three trenches were all devoid of archaeological features or deposits. |
