Abstract:		 A watching brief exposed further evidence of town ditch infilling deposits and the central berm between the ditches. Further limestone walls were exposed which, upon re-examination of the physical and documentary evidence, are now thought to represent part of a wharf of the Southampton to Salisbury canal. No clear evidence of the 18th century bastion was found.
