Abstract: |
An archaeological evaluation was required in advance of housing development at Spencerfield, Inverkeithing. A previous DBA (Hickman 2012) recorded two cultural heritage site within the development area, the site of a WWII Barrage Balloon and a railway line. Fifty-four evaluation trenches were excavated which covered c. 3% of the proposed development site. The evaluation identified two pits near to the site of the Barrage Balloon. One contained bricks with what may be military style painted numbers on them. Part of a cutting for the railway track was also revealed. No other features of archaeological significance were identified. |
