Abstract: |
Earthworks survey of Brentor was carried out in June 2003 and March 2004 using dual frequency proportional GPS. A base station was established on the site for which national grid coordinates and heights were generated using data downloaded from OS active stations. The majority of archaeological and topographical detail was surveyed and logged using GPS rovers. Additional stations were established by GPS on the north-west side of the tor on which a total station theodolite was used to record detail and heights of the vertical outcrops. All data was downloaded into a Cad environment wherein the final earthwork plan was prepared. |
