Abstract: |
Building record of 1912 former Ogilvie School of Recovery prior to refurbishment and extension. The building comprises a main block and former children's home at the back (recovery school) that has a half-butterfly form. Architecturally it has a strong Queen Anne revival style and the south-east elevation is particularly ornate. Good survival of exteriors but most of the interiors have been refurbished in the modern period. Important for its design and place in the early 20th century open-air/hospital movement. Still in use as a special needs school. Not Listed. |
