Abstract: |
Archaeological trenching and test pitting preceded the proposed construction of a new RSPB nature reserve at Bowers Marsh, near Basildon. All of the trenches and test pits revealed near identical sequences of sub-, inter- and supra-tidal alluvial layers. There were no archaeological features or finds. |
