Abstract: |
A programme of historic building recording of a series of former stores, utility buildings and structures adjacent to Westgate House, Bury St Edmunds was carried out to record the setting and character of the buildings prior to their alteration or demolition. The building survey and research has shown that the three principal buildings (A-C) were built over a period spanning the later 18th century to the later 19th century and had, during this period, been considerably altered or rebuilt. They include two 18th to 19th century stable buildings, a pre-fabricated 19th century Hall and a former glass house. |
