Abstract: |
Archaeology South-East was commissioned by Southern water to undertake an archaeological watching brief during works associated with the replacement of a water main at Stanhope Lodge, Worthing, West Sussex. A total of six pits were monitored, four in the east of the scheme close to the Coach and Horses public house and two in the west in the grounds of Castle Goring. The area in the east had been heavily disturbed by recent road building and the area in the west showed signs of landscaping and bioturbation. No archaeological finds or features were observed. |
