Abstract: |
Detailed magnetometry was carried out by Archaeological Surveys ltd within three land parcels covering 16ha. The results show the the northern part of the site contains a number of weakly positive linear and discrete responses as well as a number of negative linear anomalies. They lie in very close proximity to archaeological features to the south and west recorded during previous geophysical surveys and this may indicate that these anomalies have some archaeological potential. They are however, poorly defined and lack a coherent morphology. In the eastern part of the site zones of amorphous weakly positive responses relate to the underlying geology an a number of pit-like anomalies could also relate to natural features. |
